SCHIMPF STATEMENT ON RAUNER ‘STATE OF STATE’
SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Sen. Paul Schimpf (R-Waterloo) offered the following comments after Governor Bruce Rauner delivered his annual State of the State Address on Jan. 25.
“I was moved by the fact that the Governor identified that now is the time to work towards compromise. He specifically mentioned the efforts going on in the Illinois Senate to achieve progress,” Schimpf said. “We were happy to hear that the Governor talked about Southern Illinois University. SIU is the economic driver of the 58th Senate District, since it’s the largest employer. It is an ambitious agenda for the school and job creation throughout our region.”
