SCHIMPF STATEMENT ON INFRINGEMENT OF 2ND AMENDMENT
SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Sen. Paul Schimpf (R-Waterloo) offered the following comments on April 27 after the Illinois Senate passed a controversial gun dealer licensing bill which would infringe on Second Amendment rights.
“I am disappointed the Illinois Senate has passed yet another piece of misguided legislation that infringes on our Second Amendment rights. This legislation creates a huge burden on our law-abiding downstate firearms dealers in a questionable attempt to solve a Chicago problem,” Schimpf said. “I am proud to have voted against this bill four times, three in committees and once on the Senate Floor.”
