SCHIMPF STATEMENT ON RURAL WATER SYSTEM UPGRADES
SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity announced two projects which seek to improve water piping and other infrastructure across the 58th Senate District, according to State Sen. Paul Schimpf (R-Waterloo).
“These necessary modernization projects maintain our clean drinking water -- a resource we all benefit from,” Schimpf said. “I am happy for these communities and hope that we can bring even more funds in to support other communities across the 58th Senate District.”
The Community Development Block Grant recipients for the 58th Senate District are listed below;
$350,000 + grant level – City of Pinckneyville and Village of Percy
The funds are awarded for repairs and upgrades to fix sanitary sewer transmission mains and sewer main replacements in the Percy and Pinckneyville areas. The upgrades are federally-funded.
