Statement on Erica Jefferies’ resignation
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – April 27, 2018 – The following is a statement by Senator Paul Schimpf, Minority Spokesman of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, on the resignation of Erica Jefferies, Director of the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs (IDVA).
“I am saddened to learn of Director Jeffries' resignation, but I wish her well in her new endeavors,” said Sen. Schimpf. “Having known Erica when we worked together at the Pentagon, I expected great things from her as IDVA Director and was not disappointed. Her leadership allowed the department to fulfill its mission in the midst of a toxic political environment. We owe her our thanks for her dedication and willingness to serve our veterans.”
