Statement Regarding Legionella at the Illinois Veterans’ Home at Quincy
“Although I appreciate the testimony today’s witnesses provided, I was ultimately disappointed in the outcome of today’s Joint Senate/House Veterans Affairs Committee hearing. The idea that the administration’s failure to respond to a clearly over-broad request for information is not evidence of a cover-up. That irresponsible suggestion and the insults which followed do nothing to improve an already tragic situation. Our focus going forward should be to identify the best practices and procedures that will ensure our veterans receive the care they deserve.”
